Micro-Needling

Micro-Needling

This unique treatment is ideal for a non-surgical treatment of various skin conditions such as aging (wrinkles, loose skin), scarring (acne, surgical), photodamage, and hyperpigmentation. Clinical studies have shown microneedle therapy to be very effective in stimulating collagen and elastin production to thicken the skin thereby reducing wrinkles and smoothing scars. This treatment will dramatically increase the effectiveness of skin care products, through improved penetration of nutrients and vitamins into the active layers of the skin. We offer an in-clinic treatment performed by our medical aestheticians to stimulate cells in the deeper layers of the skin, as well as cosmetic rollers to compliment your in-office treatment which are ideal for personal, home use. (Cost $349)

Boost Your Results

You can also boost your results with added growth factors. We offer 2 different options;

Platelet Rich Plasma treatment (PRP, Vampire Facial) which involves a physician administered blood draw, spinning the blood in a centrifuge, then harvesting the rich platelets and fibrin to apply during the micro-needling treatment of wrinkles or scars in the face, hands, and neck. (Cost $300)

If you tend to shy away from needles, we also offer a professional line of sterile hyaluronic acid combined with complex therapeutic ingredients which are specifically formulated to support and enhance the results of medical-aesthetic procedures and to promote effective healing. This solution of therapeutic growth factors is used during your micro-needling treatment and is designed to enrich the skin and work in synergy to promote wound healing, increase cell motility, and stimulate dermal fibroblasts to regenerate new collagen and elastin fibers. (Cost $150)

How Microneedling Works

For those who would like improved results, the next step up from Cosmetic Dermal  Rolling is microneedling. This does not rely on increased nourishment alone to get results, but also on the natural healing process that occurs from micro-injuries to the skin.

How is In-Clinic Micro-Needling different from Cosmetic Dermal Rolling?

With micro-needling we can stimulate cells at a depth of 1mm. This is deep enough to trigger the growth factor cascade, but shallow enough to minimize recovery time and discomfort. It results in natural collagen production and does not have the risk of pigment changes with sun exposure after treatment, thus making it ideal for those who have darker skins, where laser treatments are contra-indicated. With Cosmetic Dermal Rolling one should only use .2 – .3mm needle length rollers.

In-office Micro-Needling, combined with the correct nutrients, will:

  • Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Firm lax skin
  • Fade brown spots
  • Flatten and fade scars
  • Reduce pore size
  • Fade stretch marks
  • Decrease permanent diffused redness
  • Decrease the formation of broken blood vessels

The Advantages

  • The process is entirely natural and safe.
  • Your own collagen is long-lasting.
  • You will never be left looking artificial.
  • It’s safe for all skin types.
  • There is no permanent damage to the skin.
  • It can be used on thin skin.
  • It can be safely repeated for greater results.
  • It can be used on any area (face, neck and body).
  • The process is less painful than some technologies such as Thermage or Fraxel.
  • There is a very short healing period (back to work next day with make-up).
  • It is affordable.
  • Effective – it works!

Side Effects

  • Reddening of the skin which should subside in 3-5 days.
  • Mild swelling initially. This usually subsides in a day or two.
